4 firemen injured as fire guts madrassa, 2 structures in Bemina | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNO): At least four firefighters were injured after a blaze broke out in Gousia Colony, Bemina area of Srinagar city on Friday evening, damaging Madrassa Sabeel-un-Huda and two residential structures, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that teams of Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the fire alert, while local residents also joined the efforts to stop the flames from spreading further. “The fire first engulfed the madrassa and then spread to two nearby structures. Firefighters are making every effort to control the situation,” an official said. He added that four firemen sustained injuries while battling the blaze and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Moreover, eyewitnesses said thick flames and smoke were seen rising from the area, as multiple water tenders were deployed at the scene, and the cause of the fire was not known at the time of filing this report, and the fire had been controlled now—(KNO)
